After-School Job Fair for Part-Time Food Handlers, Security Guards, Custodian/Maintenance, Activity Specialists!

 

When: Wednesday, September 25, 2019

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

 

Where: Surfside Gardens Community Center

We will be holding interviews for the following positions:

  • PART TIME Food Handlers, Security Guards, Custodian/Maintenance, Activity Specialists  Part-time

We will be hiring for the following locations

  • All locations in the surrounding area of the event location

Requirements

  • Food Handler 
    • Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED
    • Food handlers need to complete certification courses that cover food safety and handling
    • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, be over 17 and able to commute to Coney Island
  • Security Guard –
    • High School diploma with one year of experience in a related field
    • Security certificate (16 hours)
    • CPR/First Aid Certified
    • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, be over 17 and able to commute to Coney Island
  • Custodian/Maintenance –
    • Ability to follow oral English instructions, ability to read and write English
    • Capable of heavy physical activity and awareness of good sanitation practice
    • Prior custodial experience
    • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, be over 17 and able to commute to Coney Island
  • Activity Specialist –
    • High School diploma and two years’ experience working with youth or an Associate’s degree in child development, recreation or a related field
    • Must be available:
      • Monday — Friday evenings 6pm- 10pm and weekends 10am-5pm during the school year for 15 hours/week
      • 8 weeks for Cornerstones, Monday — Friday 6pm-11pm
      • Weekends 3pm-11pm
    • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, be over 17 and able to commute to Coney Island.

Please bring an updated resume and up to 3 references from most recent employer(s) with you to the event.

What to wear

Dress code is Business casual (dress pants/skirt, button-down/blouse, optional tie).
