(Brooklyn, NY) – The Boards of HeartShare Human Services of New York and St. Vincent’s Services, both located in Brooklyn (NY), have approved an affiliation of their respective agencies.  St. Vincent’s Services will be known as HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS).

HSVS will provide all foster care, adoption, prevention, youth programs, HIV/AIDS residential and Article 31 Clinic services. HeartShare will provide all developmental disabilities services, including those currently operated by St. Vincent’s.

Carol A. Smith- Njiiri will serve as HSVS’ Chief Executive Officer, Dawn Saffayeh as Executive Director and William P. Sabado as Deputy Executive Director.  Their combined talents and experience provide HSVS with a very strong, knowledgeable and effective executive team. HeartShare Executive Director for Developmental Disabilities Services Linda Tempel and Executive Vice President for Developmental Disabilities Services Evelyn Alvarez continue their responsibilities for all developmental disabilities programs with their equally strong, knowledgeable and professional leadership skills.

“With similar histories and strongly aligned programmatic goals, our two organizations will leverage shared expertise and resources to serve at-risk New Yorkers more effectively and more efficiently. As HeartShare begins its second century of service, I very much look forward to this strategic affiliation that we believe will enhance the lives of the children, adults and families in our care,” stated Bill Guarinello, HeartShare’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

HeartShare is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary this year, and St. Vincent’s has served the community for 145 years. The affiliation combines the great work and efforts accomplished by both agencies over the last century, and creates the third largest children’s services provider in New York City.
