Mental Health Clinic

My work as a therapist is significantly informed by my first career as a lawyer representing domestic violence survivors. This experience influences how I screen for trauma-related symptoms and guides my approach to the use of clinical assessments which can ideally function to uncover the role trauma plays in a client’s life. I have run support groups and worked individually with adults and adolescents facing profound life stressors including medical and psychiatric diagnoses, physical and psychological abuse, death of primary caregivers, raising infants and toddlers as a single parent, and aging out of the foster system. Most recently, I have served as a therapist to both adult and adolescent populations where my clients have sought treatment for Depressive Disorders, General Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. My firm belief is that listening intently and with compassion, coupled with employing talk therapy and evidence-based techniques in a safe therapeutic setting, can help clients to navigate even the most challenging interpersonal and intra-psychic challenges.

Therapeutic philosophy: I strive to offer my clients a holistic, strengths-based approach influenced by relational, attachment, and cognitive-behavioral theories. My paramount goal is to provide a therapeutic space, free of judgment and rooted in empathy, where my clients feel heard and empowered; a place where we can co-create a strong foundation of mutual trust that enables us to explore feelings of loneliness, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and begin the work of generating positive and lasting change.
