Farah Herbert, MD is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with over a dozen years of experience in the field of mental health. She obtained her medical degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia before completing her Psychiatry Residency at New York University School of Medicine. As a Medical Director in Adult Psychiatry at New York City Health + Hospitals / Kings County she spearheaded trauma-informed care initiatives to support staff and client well-being. Currently, she serves as the Psychiatrist with the Brooklyn Family Justice Center (FJC) Mental Health Program, focusing on providing clinical care to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence while providing education to advocates and staff of the FJC’s partner agencies about mental health, domestic violence and vicarious trauma.
